Second Annual Ice Cream Crawl
Last Saturday we embarked on our second annual ice cream crawl through Oak Park and Forest Park. It consisted of 5 Ice Cream Shoppes (Coldstone, Ben & Jerry's, Petersen's, Oberweis & Brown Cow), 4 hours of eating & strolling, 14 adults, 2 children & 2 babies. We capped the evening grilling hamburgers. I guess there is a good reason this is only an annual event...
Ahh, chivalry.
The group at our second stop... we've only just begun...
Brown Cow - our final destination. We lost a couple toddlers & mothers to nap time before this final stop - but some of our men really paced themselves - one finished with a double scoop cone and another ate a banana split! No kiddie cups for these guys...Face Painting
So far Sean has mastered rice cereal, bananas, green beans, sweet potatoes & carrots. Next up: Squash, applesauce, peas & pears... It is fun to watch him get better at eating - and it has provided some funny pictures along the way
Not one of Sean's top foods so far...
First word?!?
Sean said his first word last night. We were over at Michele's and had turned on the Colts/Jacksonville football game to check the score. I had Sean on my lap, and he leaned forward toward the television set and said "ffffootball." Clear as a bell.
Michele and I looked at each other and just fell over laughing. He went from "dadadadada" to "ffffootball"....... hey..... what about "mama"??

A full September!
It has been over a month since I last posted on our website. Between all of the activity and some sickness, the photos have been piling up! But here is a recap of the month and the pictures will follow below:
- Sean now has 2 bottom teeth - we are trying to enjoy his toothless grin as long as possible!
- He can roll over from his belly to his back.... making tummy time even more of a challenge...
- He likes to hold his own bottle.
- He started rice cereal - tried it for a couple weeks and not a big fan... but today we tried bananas - and I think we are making progress.
- He experienced his first Purdue football tailgate & game
- He had his first big boy tumble - and handled it like a champ
- We dedicated Sean at church a couple weeks ago & had a little party
- And Sean turned 6 months - Holy cow - they say time goes quickly, but he is already half a year old. Incredible. He is a staggering 28.5" and weighed 20 lbs. The good news is that he only gained 1.5 pounds in 2 months. The bad news is that I am buying 12 months & 18 months clothes for him! My baby sure doesn't look like a baby anymore...
- And in the last couple weeks, he's making great strides in sitting up by himself too. It seems like so much happens around 6 months.
Enjoy all of the photos!
Sean's Dedication
Stan and I dedicated Sean to the Lord before friends & family on Sunday, September 16th. It was a wonderful day of celebration. Sean truly is a gift to us, and it is our strong desire to raise him in a way that is pleasing to God - thank you for all of your prayers & support on our behalf.
Thanks for the beautiful blanket, Great Grandma!
We forgot to tell him it isn't polite to yawn when the pastor starts speaking!
A prayer for Sean
A prayer for our family
Aren't we the luckiest??
Thanks for taking these pictures, Luciano!
Sean with his parents & grandparents - thanks for being a special part of his big day!Purdue / Notre Dame Game
We made a deal that we would call our son "Pat" for a week if Tom & Cheryl would let us have their Purdue/Notre Dame tickets. They agreed and even surprised us with a shirt for him to wear. Did they think we might not keep up our end of the bargain??
