Just like that!

[Posted Monday night] Tonight, Sean started crawling for the first time! I thought it was going to be months before we witnessed this amazing event - but it happened all of a sudden. Both Stan and I were home to see Sean take his first (of many!) crawl steps. I just can't believe it - at 14 months our little guy is moving. I took a short video - so I need to learn how to upload it for you to enjoy his accomplishment as well. Praise God for answering our prayers and helping Sean's little muscles get moving!

Movin' on down....

[Posted Monday morning] Therapy works! Stan and I went to bed Friday night, and we could hear Sean in his room - but it wasn't your typical middle-of-the-night noise - it was very happy & playful. I went it to his room to discover that my child had rolled over, walked himself up to sitting, pulled himself up to his knees and was now dancing on his knees holding onto the top bar of the crib! A surge of pride and panic went through me as I soon realized our crib (in its current position) was no longer safe for Sean - so after spending the weekend in the pack-n-play, Stan lowered the crib last night and Sean is now safe to move around :) Not bad for 7 therapy sessions!

Baby's got a brand new pair of shoes!

Whenever I want to get serious about exercise, a new pair of shoes seems to get me in the mood - so I was wondering, maybe that would work for Sean too?? It appears so - I stopped by REI on my way home from work yesterday because they were having a sale on Keen sandals, and I thought they would make a perfect shoe for Sean - protective toe, breathable for the summer, good support and on sale! We came home and as Sean was standing (with me supporting him under his arms) he lifted up one foot and stepped forward and then the other and then the other! We awkwardly stepped down the hallway until all the blood rushed to my head, and I needed to stop :) But it appears all Sean needed to start moving was a new pair of shoes....

Look at those tiny shoes - he's wearing a size 4 and has plenty of growing room!

Quick PT Update

Sean has made a lot of progress with just a few sessions. Last night he even went from his belly into a crawl position to sitting up... not sure if he will do that again anytime soon, but we are very encouraged :) I'm still waiting for a call to schedule an assessment with the state program (EI). So far we really have enjoyed working with Maureen, so it seems unlikely at this point that we will switch, but a free second/third opinion can't hurt :)

This is finals week for Stan (prayers appreciated!) with finals Tuesday and Wednesday. We are also having car issues with both cars - our Lemon/Jeep and our brand new Saturn... little frustrating to say the least... and inconvenient :) If we get one working, we are going to visit Stan's Grandma in Cincinnati this weekend and visit with the Gilliams too. We're really looking forward to it because we'll get to see family and it means that this Spring semester is finally over!
